The brain is the most important organ in the human body - or that's what it asserts! Scientists have managed to get high resolution images of the brain to study how it works. Join Dr. John Connolly, Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Languages at McMaster University and doctoral student in Biomedical Engineering Rober Boshra to discover the inner workings of our brain.
The cognitive consequences of comas
John Connolly (Professor)
Our research uses brain imaging tools to study and assess the cognitive and neuroanatomical consequences of brain injury. We study coma, disorders of consciousness, and concussion. We aim to use objective brain measures - in contrast to behavioural measures that are prone to error - to assess the neurocognitive consequences of brain injury and to develop tools that improve prognostic accuracy of brain injury cases.
