Join us tonight to learn about ways to train your brain to be more efficient and to hear about the cutting edge cardiovascular research occurring in right here in Regina!

Brain Training 101

Dr. Kim Dorsch (Professor, Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies, University of Regina )
PAY ATTENTION!! Sounds like a simple enough directive. But, is it really that simple? To merely walk through a crowded mall requires the brain to process a great deal of information. The information that is processed is what is attended to; consequently attention has been defined as the gateway of perception into consciousness. At the UofR’s Cognitive Athletic Training (CAT) lab, we are trying to understand this process; and perhaps more importantly, we are looking at ways to train our brains to be faster and more efficient in order to enhance our abilities to interact with the environment.

Cardiology 101

Payam Dehghani, MD, FRCPC, FACC, FSCAI (Cardiologist, Saskatchewan Health Authority)
Dr. Dehghani is a co-founder of the Prairie Vascular Research Institute (PVRI) and is passionate about performing and promoting research in the world of cardiology.
