The phrase “Artificial Intelligence” seems to be everywhere
right now, but it’s had its ups and downs. This talk will give a
whirlwind tour of what “AI” has meant over the past 60 years,
from Shakey to Siri. I’ll finish up by describing some of my
own work on developing AI methods designed to partner
with humans and help them make difficult decisions in health
care.
