1 in 3 Canadians are directly impacted by a neurological disorder. Diverse treatments including non-pharmaceutical methods allow personalized treatment that is desired by many patients. Complementary and alternative options like music can boost mood, decrease stress, improve speech after injury, increase focus, develop learning, lessen anxiety, and recover lost memories.  Music, nutraceuticals, physiology and psychology, and technology help manage and maintain a beautiful mind.

Music and the Mind

Fleur Hughes (MMT, MTA, NMT, MT-BC (Accredited Music Therapist at Musictherapy42))
Music has been observed by researchers across multiple disciplines as universal behaviour and a neurologic process. Engaging in music is an essential part of how we learn, process both our individual and collective experiences, and how we express ourselves. Fleur will explore how music can engage and change our brain - and how the effects of music and musical elements on the human brain are being utilized by certified music therapists in a variety of settings.
