Water-loving and Water-hating Surfaces: Windshields to Brain Cells to Health in Space

Chris Corkery (Course Lecturer McGill)
It is easy to tell if something is slippery or sticky just by touching it. Did you know that the way a surface feels depends on the atoms and molecules it is made of? By controlling what kind of atoms these are, we can design surfaces that suck water in, or can’t get wet. Fancy surfaces let us make clothes or windshields that never get dirty, but can also do a whole lot more.
