You had me at beer. I am a PhD student at the University of Ottawa studying psychiatric epidemiology. I’m ready to talk science, baseball (go tigers!) and movies over some local craft beer!
Our Society team
I am postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa studying obesity and metabolism. I love hoppy beers and nerding-out to a good science talk!
Bar Manager Our Society team
I am a PhD student working on rare genetic mitochondrial diseases. Originally from Montréal, I moved to Ottawa to pursue my grad studies. Outside of the lab, I do ballet, arts & crafts, some cooking, and enjoy having a pint with my friends.
Being a nerd through and through, I figured I might as well get paid for it and chose a career in science. I’m currently working on my PhD in Physics, looking at new models to explain dark matter. I love to talk about everything science, and doing so with a beer in hand is just an added bonus.
Atoms to Galaxies team
Best described as a "scientific neophiliac", I always find myself indulging in as much and as diverse science as possible. From organic chemistry to immunometabolism- I enjoy learning all things science. When not in the lab, you'll find me biking along the canal or searching for the next best IPA.....
Bar Manager Our body
I’m a biologist at heart, but prefer to explore science through the computer using bioinformatics. I really love to share my passion for science with everyone I meet, especially over a pint or two!
Our Body team
With an education background in Pharmaceutical Sciences, I work at the Ottawa Heart Institute as a radiopharmaceutical technologist. I am passionate about science communication and I write about physics and chemistry news as freelance writer.
Atoms and Galaxies Team
I’m a physicist in training (a Master’s student) with experience in ultrafast laser systems and in quantum materials. I’m also a passionate science educator/outreach volunteer. I am interested in making specifically physics more accessible, relatable, and interesting to young students and the public...

Atoms and Galaxies team
I’m a Phd student at the university of Ottawa. What I do is studying fundamental properties of photons and performing information processing with them. I agree that science is part of culture and should be taken out of the lab more often. A pint is always welcome!
Don’t be fooled - if it were up to me this festival would be called “wine of science”. I am a nuclear engineer currently working in radiation safety. I like to play volleyball, dance, and of course, have a glass (or 2) of wine with my friends.
Our Society Team
I am a graduate from Dalhousie (B.Sc) and the University of Waterloo (MPH), and am currently a policy analyst at Health Canada. Outside of work hours I am adventurous, and like travelling, water sports, and of course, a good beer!
City Coordinator Our bodies
As a doctoral student in physics, my job is designing an “electromagnetic mini-golf course for atoms” where the atoms get in the hole (detector) regardless of how bad you hit them. I enjoy talking science, drinking beer, and reading manga.
Bar Manager Atoms and Galaxies
I am a Master's student at the University of Ottawa studying the physics of materials under extreme conditions. I could turn your beer into a diamond... but that would be a waste of perfectly good beer!
I’m research-scientist-turned-data-analyst who believes that everyone can understand even the most convoluted scientific material if it’s communicated effectively (read: preferably over a good stout). My area of expertise is cell biology and the biochemistry of fats.
